A recent study published in Obesity found that drinking two eight-ounce glasses of water 30 minutes before meals caused participants to drop 44% more weight in 12 weeks time than dieting alone.
Lead study author Brenda Davy says that guzzling two glasses before you eat can help you consume less food, about 75 to 90 fewer calories per meal. Other researchers have suggested that staying well hydrated may help increase metabolism, specifically fat metabolism.
For weight loss, opt for plain H20 over enhanced water or vitamin drinks that contain calories.
